Frequently asked questions

What Are the Main NAD+ Benefits for Women?

The biology is solid: NAD+ is essential for energy metabolism and DNA repair, and it falls with age in women's tissue. Clinical evidence is thin. One 10-week trial in 25 postmenopausal women with prediabetes found NMN improved muscle insulin sensitivity, and claims about energy or hormones have not been tested in women.

Is NAD+ Good for Menopause?

Not on current evidence. The trials that included postmenopausal women measured metabolic outcomes, not hot flashes, sleep or hormone levels. If symptoms are the problem, ask a clinician about treatments studied for them.

What Is the Best NAD Supplement for Women?

No single product is best. NR and NMN have each raised NAD+ in small trials that included women, but each was tested against a placebo, not against the other. Because the FDA does not approve supplements before they are sold, a clinician is the right person to weigh any choice against your health history.

Can NAD+ Improve Fertility?

Not in women, so far. NMN restored egg quality and fertility in aged mice in a 2020 study, and that has not been shown in people. Raise it with your fertility specialist before taking anything.

Are NAD+ Injections Safe for Women?

Human safety data are sparse and mostly in men. A pilot of IV NAD+ in eight men reported no adverse events, while a 2026 review of IV clients found stomach symptoms and chest pressure during infusions. Compounded NAD+ is not FDA-approved, which is why a physician reviews your history before prescribing it.

Can Food Raise NAD+ Levels?

Food supplies the raw materials. Niacin from poultry, fish, beef, nuts, legumes and grains is converted to NAD, and your body can also make it from tryptophan. The average woman's diet already supplies more than the 14 mg daily niacin recommendation, which makes food the sensible baseline before weighing any other NAD benefits for women.
